Serve on the organizations executive team as head of education and community education programming:
urban ecology, urban conservation, urban planning, and vocational training in stewardship and

Supervised and trained youth transitioning from adjudication services in urban environmental education
centered around the education and restoration of the Anacostia River; Managed the Earth Conservation
Corp Raptor Research & Rehabilitation program, including the creation of an urban raptor education
program and training Corps member to care for and train raptors to perform for educational
programming; Planned, scheduled, and instructed environmental education programs, workshops, and
special projects for all ages and audiences; Created educational exhibits, interpretive brochures, and
other environmental educational materials promoting the restoration of urban green spaces in urban
areas through out the Chesapeake Bay Watershed; Ensured EE objectives were included throughout
ECC strategies and Corps programming; Coordinated EE training for Corps members; prepare Corps
members for programs and special events by coordinating river/watershed related information; Served as
a community outreach resource; develop relationships with schools; Prepared long- and short-term EE
goals for programs and special events and develops a written plan of action; Communicated effectively
with external constituencies, including national organizations, about the mission and educational
programming of the Earth Conservation Corps

Designed and implemented year long “Habitat Hero’s” environmental education curricula for students
3rd thru 6th grade at Kenilworth Elementary; Directed summer and after school initiative with students
from the Kenilworth community; Developed outreach strategies and environmental educational
programming to underserved schools; Created watershed specific curriculum guide for DCPS K-6,
including teacher workshops; Managed DC BayWatch serving 13 DCPS schools and over 600 students;
Supervised Kenilworth Initiative, the site planning, funding and programming of a NPS classroom and site;
Administered Schoolyard Habitat Restoration Grant including the building of 3 rain gardens at River
Terrace ES, Ketcham ES, and P.R. Harris Education Center; Assist Development Director with grant
writing and fundraising .

Consultant, The Anacostia Initiative January 2002- July 2002
THE CHESAPEAKE BAY FOUNDATION, Washington DC


Worked closely with the Anacostia River Initiative Director, organized, publicized, and managed the
“East of the River Environmental Network”; Designed and conducted environmental surveys for low
income residents; Arranged and implement monthly workshops centered around Chesapeake Bay
Watershed issues and urbanization.

Assisted The Nature Conservancy in the development and creation of the CCC (a program exposing
underserved youth to the natural environment; Developed and managed monthly in class and out of class
hands-on field trips in agreement with DC Public School System efforts at meeting science standards;
Created educational partnerships within Dunbar, Cardozo, Anacostia, and Eastern High Schools

Served as a Contractor (1994): Developed an urban environmental educational teaching modular for the
Lake Mead National Recreation area. Developed interpretive scripts for walking tours; Park Ranger
(Summer 1993): Worked the information desk, provided narrated boat and walking tours. Performed as
apart of Parks In the Classroom program serving as a K-12 environmental educator within the Clark
County (Nevada) School District from August through December of 1993 Assisted in the supervision of
ten urban youth (adjudicated youth) participating in a summer youth service life enrichment
rehabilitation program; Intern, Fellows Program (Summer 1992): Staffed visitor center.
